What ITAP is.

The Instrumental Technique Advancement Program (ITAP) is geared to help young musicians develop solid technical skills that enable them to feel like a wizard on their instruments. Emphasis is on fluid rendering of scales, arpeggios, and exercises in shifting, double stops, and different bowings.

How ITAP fits a Saturday.

ITAP runs from 3:30 to 4:30pm in the Music Director’s Office, taught by Dr. Gloria Shih. It sits between the ensembles on a Saturday, so a student can take it without a second trip. It supports the playing rather than replacing a private lesson.
