Acceptance is by COS faculty recommendation and audition. If you have not spoken to your child’s teacher about the Majors Program yet, start there rather than here.
Applicant and Contacts
Date of birth, high school graduation year, major and secondary instruments with years of study on each, and contact details for you, your child and their teacher.
A Repertoire List
Scales, etudes, technical studies, solo works and chamber music. This comes in a second step, so write the list out before you begin.
Placement Exams Come Later
Applicants sit theory, ear-training and dictation placement exams at the audition itself. Students usually enter in seventh, eighth or ninth grade.
