Children’s Orchestra Society Mourns the Loss of Beloved Supporter Barry Goldstein

The Children’s Orchestra Society (COS) is deeply saddened to share the passing of longtime supporter, past COS PTA president, and devoted parent Barry Goldstein, who lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, June 7. Barry was a gentle, kind, and humorous soul whose love for his family and community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Barry is survived by his beloved wife, Inga, his best friend and the love of his life, and their two children, Aaron (24) and Julia (27), who embody his warmth, kindness, and sharp wit. A dedicated husband and father, Barry was a constant source of love, laughter, and support for his family. His pride in them was evident in every moment, and his legacy lives on through their lives.

As the Goldstein family navigates this profound loss, they also face significant financial challenges. Barry was the primary provider for his family, and with Inga having paused her counseling practice to care for him during his illness, the family is now burdened by medical expenses, rent, college tuition, and other bills. Barry, who was self-employed, had little savings and no life insurance, leaving the family in a difficult position.

In this time of grief, the COS community is coming together to support the Goldsteins. A GoFundMe has been set up to help alleviate some of the financial strain they are facing. If you are able, please consider contributing to this fundraiser to honor Barry’s memory and assist his family during this heartbreaking time.

The Children’s Orchestra Society extends its deepest condolences to the Goldstein family. Barry’s kindness, humor, and unwavering support for his children’s musical journeys will always be remembered. May his spirit continue to inspire us all.
